National Alternative-Fueled Vehicle Operations

The hazards are already on your roads.
The training has to keep up.

Electric, hydrogen, and CNG vehicles are in your response area right now. Book a training session today — and keep your members safe.

Recognize. Identify EV, hybrid, hydrogen & CNG hazards on size-up. Mitigate. Put controls in place before the rescue begins. Control. Isolate stored energy and work a stabilized scene. Reevaluate. Conditions change fast — reassess the hazard throughout.

Why this training matters

Alternative-fuel vehicles aren't the future. They're the call you're running today.

Electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, hydrogen fuel-cell, and CNG vehicles — plus stationary energy storage systems — are in every community in the country. Every fire department, EMS agency, law-enforcement organization, and towing provider has to be ready to recognize the hazards, make informed decisions, and operate safely around them.

DyeNamics Extrication delivers practical, field-tested training you can apply on the next call. It's built on four principles — recognize, mitigate, control, and continuously reevaluate the hazard — and every evolution is hands-on, on the exact vehicles your district is responding to today.

What we do

Training built around the hazards that actually show up

Identifying 12-volt and high-voltage disconnects in a vehicle fuse box
Step 1

Identification

Size-up and hazard assessment first: identify the vehicle, find the battery boundaries and high-voltage systems, and spot thermal-runaway warning signs before the first cut.

Step 2

Stabilization

Lock the vehicle down and put mitigations in place to control the hazards — cribbing, struts, and isolating stored energy before anyone goes hands-on.

Step 3

Extrication

Make the cut with confidence — hydraulic spreaders, cutters, and rams worked around a scene that's already under control.

How we train

Hands on the tools, hands on the vehicle.

  • Scenario-driven. Rollovers, under-rides, and entrapments staged on real vehicles — not theory.
  • Built for your crew. Sessions tailored to your apparatus, staffing, and the calls your district runs.
  • Energy first. Every evolution starts with hazard size-up and isolating stored energy before the first cut.
  • On your ground. We bring the curriculum to your station, drill yard, or department event.

Who's behind it

Meet Montana Dye

Montana Dye leading an EV and alternative-fuel awareness session
Classroom & conference awareness sessions — not just hands-on.

DyeNamics Extrication was founded by Captain Montana Dye — a Fire Captain in San Diego County, a California State Fire Training instructor, a member of the California State vehicle-extrication curriculum cadre, an alternative-fuel-vehicle instructor, conference presenter, and community-college faculty member.

He built DyeNamics to put real, hands-on EV and alternative-fuel extrication training in front of the crews who need it — taught by someone who runs these calls, writes the curriculum, and knows what works when seconds count.

“The fleet already changed. Our job is to make sure the rescue keeps up.”
